Faculty’s history

The Law Faculty of the Moscow State University named after S. U. Witte (MIEMP) was formed in 1993. Since its opening, the department has prepared and passed close to 7,000 students. Today, the faculty is preparing (2 000) students to become successful lawyers and graduates of MUIV.

From the outset, the University has selected only the best Russian legal teachers for this Faculty.

Department Mission

The purpose of our work is the training of lawyers, professionals with relevant professional skills and a thorough knowledge of their relevant applications. We know the strategic importance of the legal profession in modern society requires adherence to the upmost standards. We take pride in kowing that those leaving our faculty are professionally prepared to defend the rights of citizens and that our graduates should strictly enforce laws on the basis of constitutional provisions based the analysis of legal and other business practices.

The target for our students is that they meet the rapidly changing needs of the Russian economic and legal spheres. This goal is achieved not only by the fact that students receive a general education in humanities, but are also able to practically implement their knowledge in commercial organizations and government agencies.

The Faculty of Law is at all times developing in both education and research. Scientists and teachers at the department carry out a broad range of research into the various fields of jurisprudence, as well as, actively participating in efforts to improve Russian legislation.
